MindArk Reports Q2 2025 Financial Recovery

MindArk, a prominent player in the virtual universe and gaming industry, has revealed its financial results for the second quarter of 2025, marking a significant recovery from the previous quarter. CEO Leif Evander Andersson announced a 33% increase in revenue and a return to positive operating profit (EBIT), attributing this success to the introduction of new starter packs, targeted marketing efforts, and disciplined cost control. Despite these positive developments, revenue and operating profit were lower compared to the same period last year, primarily due to a 16% decrease in activity within Entropia Universe and a weaker USD/SEK exchange rate.

The company reported a turnover of 22.1 MSEK for Q2 2025, a decrease from 26.8 MSEK in the same period last year. However, the capitalized work showed a slight increase, indicating ongoing investment in future growth. Notably, MindArk maintained a strong cash position with 25.6 MSEK in cash and cash equivalents, and no interest-bearing liabilities, demonstrating financial stability.

One of the most significant developments for MindArk was the launch of Entropia Universe on Steam on July 22, 2025. This strategic move is expected to enhance the platform's visibility and attract new users by lowering entry barriers. With over 100 million active users on Steam, this launch is anticipated to accelerate MindArk's recovery in the latter half of the year as onboarding processes improve and marketing initiatives gain traction.

Looking ahead, MindArk's strategic initiatives, including the launch of the new planet ARIS in May 2025, position the company for potential growth. The leadership of CEO Leif Evander Andersson, who officially assumed the role in April 2025, is expected to drive further innovation and expansion.
